The CAV unit is the new unit of saving on CO2 production to help ‘Save our planet’.
The greatest problem we have is not the morally corrupt misinformation that the like of Exxon-Mobil are currently promoting, but the realisation of the relevance of CO2 production to our individual lives.
The disinformation & misinformation groups, who have self interest as a precedent, will eventually be revealed for what they are; criminally negligent to life on our planet.
Our situation is critical though.
Our required response is URGENT.
Action on global warming, that has human activity as its cause, is needed NOW!
We can’t wait until the likes of Exxon-Mobil see their folly.
One of the current problems is that CO2 is invisible so that we only see its secondary effects; because of that we are always one step behind it in our response.
Another problem is the concept of saving carbon in tonnes. This is an incomprehensible amount to most people. Huge single ton lumps of carbon do not seem real!
We have to have a carbon saving unit that is simple to understand and relate to for most of the population and especially the majority of the greater carbon producers.
That is why we have come up with the CAV unit. The Carbon Activity Value unit gives you and I, an easily visualised amount of saving on CO2 production that is relevant to our daily lives.
A vast majority of the world is motorised nowadays. Our motorised transport is on the whole CO2 producing. It is therefore used in the unit, because its reduction is one of the critical ones we need for success in reducing that CO2 going into the atmosphere.
A CAV unit is the amount of CO2 saved when you or I, i.e. an individual, walks or cycles 1 Km. distance instead of driving that distance in an average car as the sole occupant.
By having an easily visualised unit that is relevant to our lives, the saving of those CAV units becomes easier to perform.
If I say it would take 4 CAV units to drive to your nearest town for you, then for every action you take measured in CAVs you have the thought that each 4 CAVs saved is the equivalent of one trip you regularly take in your normal life routine.
You gain a sense of achievement, just like the dieter saving the cals. (calorific unit of energy value of food) and losing pounds off their weight.
The CAV is not a precise measurable scientific unit amount, but it is useful if used to aid the general population in saving on CO2 production in a way that is relevant to us all.
How many CAVs have YOU saved today?!
1Km. – 1 car + 1 walk (or 1 bike-ride) = 1 CAV unit saved!
